Eternal Christmasses
Love does not begin
At Christmas time
But rather expands
From so many meaningful
Hearts in December
And seethes silently throughout
Another year.
It is nothing new, Love,
It was always there,
Just we had all forgotten:
What it looked like,
How it felt,
What it does.
Oh, Love, that does not
Begin at Christmas time,
Wake us all from our
Cold ash beds,
And teach us
How to expand toward
Each other.
Love does not begin
At Christmas time
But rather expands
From so many meaningful
Hearts in December
And seethes silently throughout
Another year.
It is nothing new, Love,
It was always there,
Just we had all forgotten:
What it looked like,
How it felt,
What it does.
Oh, Love, that does not
Begin at Christmas time,
Wake us all from our
Cold ash beds,
And teach us
How to expand toward
Each other.
