Bridgette
She was as light as the life of a feather…
She wore a myriad layers of fluff down,
Bobbed her head as she preened herself with cat tongue,
And walked silently before me on house floors.
She always left noisy purrs within the circles of my arms...
Letting her go into the place where life comes from
Was the hardest thing to do.
She came; she lived.
We caressed, cared, and loved her for a time.
Now she rises…
